SkinnyStone™ for Curved Walls, Furniture and Custom Millwork

Using ultra-thin natural stone panels on curved columns, casework, vanities, bar fronts, and furniture where slab stone simply cannot go.

Slab stone is rigid, heavy, and unforgiving. That is why curved stone details have historically meant either a compromise or an extraordinary budget. Ultra-thin panels change the geometry of what is possible.

Curves. SkinnyStone™ panels can be formed to generous radii, making clad columns, rounded reception desks, curved bar fronts, and radiused wine cellar walls achievable with standard millwork techniques. Tight radii should always be reviewed with our technical team before specification.

Furniture and casework. At 4–6 lb per square foot, stone can be applied to cabinet doors, headboards, coffee tables, credenzas, and vanity fronts without redesigning the structure underneath. Drawer fronts clad in book-matched marble still run on ordinary soft-close hardware.

Millwork integration. Because panels cut with standard woodworking tooling and a diamond wet-saw blade, cabinet shops fabricate them in-house alongside veneer and laminate. Edges can be mitred for a solid-stone appearance at corners.

Elevators, columns, and ceilings. Weight limits rule out slabs in elevator cabs and overhead applications. Thin panels have made stone ceilings and cab interiors routine in luxury hospitality and residential towers.

Detailing tips. Mitre outside corners so the vein continues around the turn, plan substrate access for any integrated lighting, and dry-fit every run so vein direction is intentional rather than accidental.
